Why Choose Team Odie Neto?
World-Class Competition Team, World-Class Instruction, World-Class Training Facility
No Politics and No Nonsense!

"If you can't defend yourself on the ground then you DON'T know how to defend yourself..."

"95% of all self-defense situations end up on the ground or in the grappling range... Grappling is the most neglected form of self-defense in all martial art systems."

What Do We Teach...?

At Neto Jiu Jitsu we teach Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, a grappling art that was popularized in America by the legendary Gracie family. Brazilian Jiu Jitsu concentrates on dominating your opponent by using angles, leverage and superior body positioning to control an opponents body movement. A person that has a superior position is in a better situation to apply finishing holds or start striking. This style allows for a smaller person to defeat a much larger attacker. Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is excellent for women who are often taken to the ground during assaults. We would recommend this style for men, women and children looking for a great workout and realistic self-defense.

Prospective Students.................

Are you out of shape?   Haven’t worked out in years?   Never done something like this before?

Well it doesn’t matter.

We have specific classes that were designed to meet the needs of a brand new student that is attending for the very first time. Many new students think that you should get in shape on your own before starting training. That is the furthest thing from the truth. You’ll absolutely love the easy and relaxed environment we have set up in our beginner fundamental classes. It will allow you to come in and learn no matter what type of shape you are in.

In our program you’ll be able to progress at your very own pace. We understand that everyone learns differently. No matter if you can only train once a week or everyday we have a program for you.

Grappling Is Way To Hard!     (they say...)

I’ve heard that there are people that think grappling is WAY TO HARD and are hesitant to give it a try. This is the furthest thing from the truth. Actually it’s pretty funny. It’s a misconception. I guess some people think that if they come to learn that someone is going to throw them into the Ultimate Fighting Championships. WRONG!

Grappling is FUN first and foremost and doesn’t require any previous experience. Anyone can do it, big people, small people, young people, older people, flexible people, non flexible people, experienced people, non experienced people, ANYONE.

If you have ever thought that Martial Arts training may be for you I would urge you to come in and see our program for yourself. I guarantee that you’ll absolutely love it; we can help meet any of your needs.

I know it may sound like I’m begging, but the fact of the matter is that I AM.

I would hate for you to miss out on the many benefits that our students are experiencing RIGHT NOW just because you are a little hesitant to give it a try. If that’s the case you don’t have to come in to try it, just come in to watch. Isn’t that fair? But if you want to try it you should take advantage of our INTRO LESSON.

I don’t know what else I can do to get you to come to our school and see for yourself. If there is something that I’m missing that will get you to come in please call me on my cell phone to let me know what it is, here’s my cell phone number 619-905-1779. Trust me I’ll do all most anything to prove to you that our program is right for you and that we can help you reach your goals.

Is Our Program Right For You?

YES. No matter what your specific goals are, we have programs that will completely fit your needs. Do you just want to get in shape? Do you want to compete? Do you want to become a Champion in the Martial Arts? Do you want to push yourself to new limits? Do you want to actually reach your full potential? Do you want to fight NHB? Do you want to learn self defense? It doesn’t matter.

We will help you reach your goal.

We often hear about students who are only interested in getting into shape being forced or pressured to compete. That will never happen at Neto Jiu Jitsu.

Whatever your personal goals are, our instructors will bend over backwards to help you accomplish them.

Does Our System Work?

Absolutely - Instructor Odie Neto has taught members of the FBI, Secret Service, Elite Military Units, Bounty Hunters, Border Patrol and police within our area, where these techniques aren't being used for sport but in real life or death situations. See for yourself check out Instructor Odie Neto and students in action in the gallery page under videos. No matter if your interest is in fitness, self-defense or just to have a great time you'll love our program. As we develop our student's scholastic abilities - we would like to do the same for you. We believe that martial arts presents a holistic approach to the development and building of moral character, grounded ethnics, sportsmanship, and fairplay. These intangibles, along with the ability to defend oneself are immeasurable and beneficial to all persons. So, we welcome you and encourage you to seek the benefits of this modern and inclusive form of fitness, self-defense, and sport.

More About Brazilian Jiu Jitsu:

When it comes to Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, you’ve come to the right place! There are many different factors that play into choosing the right school. We feel that the most important factor should be getting what you pay for. What you are paying for should be first-rate instruction and a friendly environment in which to learn. When you train at Neto Jiu Jitsu, you will be training under highly trained instructors who go through a grueling 10-week instructor training course twice a year with Master Odie Neto. Customer service is one of our main priorities. Whatever you need, our staff will be there to assist you.

One thing that separates our school from all of the others is that we have a specialized system (curriculum) that we teach. This system is one of the secrets to our team’s success. Most schools have no curriculum and basically the instructors teach whatever may pop into their heads each night for class. We believe in setting short-, intermediate-, and long-term goals, and then putting a plan in place to reach each of these goals.

Also Neto Jiu Jitsu doesn’t just concentrate on helping students develop their skills technically and physically, but also MENTALLY! Master Odie Neto is the world’s leading expert on Developing Mental Skills for grappling.

Enrolling Children in Jiu Jitsu

The greatest gift you can give your child...

is CONFIDENCE...

its amazing but true;

I laughed when i heard that Martial Arts would teach
my child discipline, confidence, and self-esteem....

But, now - he's a "Straight A Student" confident, and respectful

Dear Parent,

I don’t blame you for thinking, “come on …how can Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and martial arts teach wholesome values - and, success skills?” Well, I’m here to tell you, in more ways than you can begin to imagine. My name is Odie Neto. I’m the owner of one of the most successful Brazilian Jiu Jitsu schools in the United States. Neto Jiu Jitsu here in San Diego, California. For over 8 years , I’ve been nurturing children like yours with character building tools found only in Jiu Jitsu. No other sport can match them. In the next few pages, I’m going to tell you how you and your child can sample all of this, and more. Free of Charge!!

Watch as your child increases in confidence, energy and spirit. Stand and be dazzled as he becomes unstoppable in his quest for…

  • Greater academic achievement.

  • Unshakeable self respect.

  • Increased strength and fitness, in both body and mind

And all of it comes while learning how to "Takedown, Sweep, and Submit."

Look at it this way. Your child’s first and biggest challenge comes not from “fighting for his rights on the street,” or “beating up the neighborhood bully.” It comes, instead, from battling more sinister forces.

Your child’s own fears and self doubts:

  • “I’m not as smart as John.”

  • “I don’t get what my teacher is saying.”

  • “I wish I was as [strong, pretty, tall] as Sally.”

  • “Why does Jim keep giving me a bad time?”

  • “Why can’t I be as popular as Jill?”

The question is, how do you get your child to fight these demons?

You know the problem. Your child has a tough time even telling you she’s haunted by them. Never mind how she might conquer them. Well, the good news is, I have a proven solution. A program that has already worked for over 1000 children.
A series of lessons your child can learn easier than you think.

I call it, “Kids with Submissions.” Let me tell you it’s secret:

To repeat, Martial Arts are less about your child learning to fight others, and more about fighting…himself. His innermost fears. Conquer them, and your child unleashes within himself a powerful, unstoppable force.

A force that gives him the strength to kick down the doors of his own self doubts, A force that opens your child to the exalting power of values.

In other words, when your child uses the discipline of Jiu Jitsu to conquer his fears, he has power to transfer that discipline to all other areas of his life. I know of no other sport that does this better than Jiu JItsu. (I should know. Remember, I’ve been teaching it for 10 years.) Now, you may be asking, how does all this “values” stuff work? And why does Jiu Jitsu manage to do a better job teaching it? Again, more than any other sport, Jiu Jitsu gives your child the chance to explore her innate powers. She’ll marvel (as you will) as she increases in strength, flexibility endurance, balance, and harmony. Yet this is only the start. In fact, her physical skills act as a foundation for something much more important: the development of her value skills, mental and spiritual. And not cut off from her physical skills, but intimately connected - even bonded-to them.

Like this:

Courage:
Your child finds the courage to move outside of his comfort zone. He wills himself to take on more difficult Jiu Jitsu moves and skills. He becomes no longer afraid of being afraid. As he does so, he learns that whatever he sows, so he reaps. He learns to blame no one, but himself. He suddenly sees his life as a constant, never-ending journey of life-giving improvement. In short, with a deep breath, he refuses to become a victim of fate. He puts an arm lock on his own destiny.

Staying power:
Your child finds joy in improving her physical stamina. She can walk farther, run longer, practice skills until she gets them right. In turn, she learns not to give up. She sticks things out. With the help of her teachers, she strives harder, longer to reach her goals. Even if she fails she perseveres. She won’t let her self doubts get in the way of finding ultimate solutions. As a man said, “Where performance is measured, performance improves.” Yet, your child has to first accept where he stands now. That means measuring current strengths. Above all, he learns that to succeed, he can’t fool anyone, especially himself. This results in a keener focus. He learns to make eye contact with his teacher (and not just in Jiu Jitsu.) He pays greater attention to what each teacher says. He knows and accepts where he stands.

These are just some of the powerful, energizing values your child will get from the “Kids with Submissions” program. In short, you can look forward to your child developing:

  • Powerful Self Control: She’ll refuse to give in to negative peer pressure. She’ll have deeper respect for rules.

  • Improved Focus: She’ll learn what’s needed, along with the skill to “zero in” on critical tasks at hand. Normal, yet time-wasting, childhood distractions won’t get in her way.

  • Fearless Self Confidence: Watch as your child finds the courage to open any door life has to offer.

So what’s this have to do with your child?
The more confidence a person has in himself, the less need he has to fight with himself. He’s at peace with who he is. Now, I still know what you’re thinking: How can I know for sure the “Kids with Submissions” program will work for my child? Will learning to ‘Takedown, Sweep, and Submit’ really work for her?

I’ve made it very easy for you to find out - for your child……….
